The releases on Kompressor Recordings’ never get boring, as they keep expanding their musical horizons. This new EP from Terry Bomb – aka Tim J – sounds very up-to-date, although it has a very distinctive sound that sets it apart from the generic stuff. Shuffled and funky, the hectic beat of ‘Perplex’ keeps rolling and pumping. Accompanied by the bassline, the track keeps building and building, introducing and removing sounds. Without too many elements, this tracks is an interesting ride until the very end. The guys from Devoice Grid’s add more roughness in their techy remix: bassheavy and stripped down, this rework is as tough at is hypnotizing. And let’s not forget the vocal: ‘We’re going back to the old school!’ Some sick stuff!
