Aldo Martinez

Aldo Martinez was fascinated by music from a very early age and learned the art of music on classical instruments. At the music academy he learned to play the trumpet, the drums and the saxophone. As a 14-year-old he listened to the various live performances recorded at famous Belgium club Cherry Moon, back in 1992 and 1993. Through house-minded radio stations Aldo Martinez got notice of what was hot in clubs at that time, while still being too young to go there. At the age of 17 he started to buy all kinds of DJ-equipment and stuff, one vinyl after the other. He took the first steps in the art of mixing and perfected his abilities as a DJ. Aldo Martinez made his very first appearance in one of Belgium’s finest clubs ever, the Afterclub Outline. It was here that DJ Aldo improved his mixing skills and gave party people a taste of what trance and house was! Soon Aldo Martinez played in other Belgian clubs like BBC, Les Enfants Terribles, Obsession, Industria, Illusion.

Aldo Martinez's passion for music translated itself into a more creative side: influenced by all kinds of electronic music he started producing himself, sometimes together with other DJ’s and producers. At this time he got acquainted with the Belgian godfather of electro trance, studio wizard Mike Dierickx a.k.a. M.I.K.E., who shared his studio knowledge and tricks. As member of the Push live-act performances in and far beyond Belgium, DJ Aldo gained some stage experience in the UK (Godskitchen), Ireland (Coloursfest), Holland (Trance Energy) and even made it to Montreal, Canada (Apocalypse 2002). After this touring experience he produced for the former Bonzaï Records of Lightning Records company (now Banshee Worx), where he released several vinyls under the aliases Stamina, Redstone and Aldo M.
